Summer 2012

August 11, 2012 § Leave a comment

The Silence Is Sexy album is finally released to the public, check it out here.

The Kyteman Orchestra is available on cd and vinyl in all good recordstores, and you can get it on iTunes as well.

A track recorded in Berlin with Michiel Flamman can be heard here.

At the moment I’m playing drums in three bands that’ll all be releasing material early in the new year. (Or so we’re saying now, you know how it goes.) I’m not at liberty to divulge anything about that at the moment. Keep a look here and at my Facebook to stay up to date about those endeavours.

Take care!

2012 update!

March 5, 2012 § Leave a comment

More than two months in, 2012 finally merits its first blog post.
Ahem. Yes, I’m a lazy bastard when it comes to updating this fucker.
Anyways, some nice stuff coming up which feature contributions by me.

Keep a look out for the new album by Kyteman’s Orchestra. It should
be out early April. Also coming this year is some new work by Silen-
ce Is Sexy, Ronald Straetemans and Michiel Flamman’s A Tunnel to Oslo.
These albums feature me in various forms of engineering, production
and musical performance.

It looks like I’ll be behind the kit and on stage a whole lot more the
coming year. There’s some real nice stuff coming up. Unfortunately I’m
not at liberty to divulge that much yet, but rest assured it’ll be all
kinds of awesome. I can however tell you that Woods On Fire
finished recording their first album, take a look on the website for
a photo blog and updates regarding the next moves in the process.

Also, keep an eye out for these wonderful bands and performers. I’m
usually behind the Front of House desk for these guys: Otis,
All On Black, GardenFest and Secret Handshake Club. I’ll also be behind the desk for some of the dates on The Medics’ current tour.

That’s it for now!

Check it out!

The new Machinist album “Of What Once Was” is now available for order on his website.

What else is new? Woods on Fire is playing Club3voor12/Utrecht tomorrow. Also, we have a new website which is looking pretty darned slick. On Saturday I’ll be mixing the GardenFest performances @ Poetracks in Arnhem. FUN FUN FUN! And last but not least; you can stream Mo Rooneh’s latest album here.

Double whammy!

Twice the fun at the Club 3voor12/Utrecht event on May 26th!

First, I’ll play a show with Woods on Fire and afterwards, I’ll be hittin’ them decks with Jesus & the Christians for an improvised noise/DJ set. Should be fun!

Also playing are Sideditch and Homemade Empire.

Check out the trailer here.

What a week!

Life is sweet…

Imagine…one day you’re recording one of the Netherlands’ tightest rhythm sections for The Medics’ upcoming album. The next day you’re up on stage yourself, playing a show for the lovely people of Groningen with Woods on Fire, and the day after you’re behind the mixing desk at the Melkweg, Amsterdam, mixing the punishing Otis.

Yep. That was my week. Me happy. Thanks guys!

Hey all!

As you can see I’ve decided to abandon my previous, shitty, website in favour of a WordPress blog. I’ll try and be more consistent with updates about my work and whereabouts from now on. Sooooo…..what’s been going on then?

– I finished mixing MaCHiNe, the fourth album by Mo Rooneh. Check out his website for more information on how and where to get it.
– May 23rd will see the release of Machinist’s new album ‘Of What Once Was’ on Moving Furniture Records. It consists of two tracks, of which I recorded and mixed one. The recording was done live at Mailmen Studios Utrecht and it turned out pretty darned cool, so check it out!
– This week I’ll be working with The Medics and my favourite producer Pim van de Werken to record some stuff for their upcoming album. Sweet!
– Speaking of Pim; I spent the winter in Berlin with him, recording material for the upcoming Jesus & the Christians record. Check out his blog for some studio reports, and click here to listen to or download the remix record Pim made. It’s awesome!

Furthermore, my band Woods on Fire is playing some more shows: May 13th @ Lepel Concerts in Groningen and May 26th @ Club 3voor12/Utrecht in dB’s in Utrecht. Come see us! :-)
